4/29-5/5 Review of material

Good evening,
We hope you all are doing well. It is hard to believe but we are in the home stretch. You guys only have one more week of assignments after this week and you have finished AP STATS! Way to go. Any missing work from the quarter you owe us, including discussion questions which some of you have been ignoring, on schoology needs to get turned in as your last day will be here before we know it.  (makes us sad inside!)  Remember you must have a 60% in the quarter to achieve a pass for the quarter and hence then pass the course for the year.   If you do not receive that 60% you will receive an incomplete and then have to make that up before credit for the course is achieved.

This week we will focus on reviewing all concepts taught in the course.

1. Complete the FRAPPY practice packet. Due 5/5 at 5 PM. You can put your answers on the same sheet as what you print out if they fit or you can do them on separate sheets of paper and send that.  If you are taking the AP test I highly suggest you find some PDF convert like genius scan and practice downloading the problems.  You will only have 5 minutes to do this for each problem on the exam on the 22nd.

2. Complete the Name that Interval Tests paper. Due 5/5 at 5 PM:

If you have Mrs. Straub upload your assignments to schoology and if you have Mr. Halstead email your assignments to him.

We will be running a review session via Microsoft teams on Monday 5/4 at 12:30 for anyone who would like to go over the practice test FRAPPYs. If you would like to attend you will need to email one of us so we can send you an invite to the meeting.

   REMINDERS
1. The AP has started their review sessions at the link below, and they are very well done.  For those of you taking the AP test I suggest you watch them to help get ready and if you have not joined the stats medic review course that was sent to you, it is free and another wonderful resources you should be using.

2. We have also added a link to the "Crack the AP" website. They have an excellent list of all the AP Stats vocab we have discussed this year. For those of you taking the test it is a great site to solidify your AP terminology.

1.     3. Work on the stats medic review guide course if you are taking the AP test as it is also a wonderful resource to get ready.  Remember it is not an assignment but your AP score is largely going to depend upon your intrinsic motivation and how hard you work beyond our class hours to get ready.  The join link was sent to your school e-mail two Friday’s ago and remember it is free.  If you need another join invite let me know but look for it in your e-mail from the past before you request.

We miss you guys and if you have any questions let us know.

Take care, Ms. Straub/Mr. Halstead

Answer keys for Benchmark review and 9.2 homework were posted earlier. Here are the answers for 9.3: 9.3 homework answers

Please check HAC for any missing assignments for 3rd quarter and email them to us ASAP. For Mrs. Straub's students please check gradebook to see if you are missing any 3rd quarter assignments{Benchmark review and 9.2 homework} and check in Schoology to see if you are missing any assignments for 4th quarter {So far this would be last weeks discussion board and the 9.3 homework}. Mr. Halstead's students make sure you answered last weeks discussion board questions and emailed him all your assignments for both 3rd and 4th quarter. If you need help uploading your documents watch this video:

Lessons for the week of 4/8 to 4/14:  As you go through the lesson it might be helpful to fill out the Chapter 10 study sheet:

Step 3:  For information on using your calculator to run significance test of two proportions see pg. 624 in your textbook. You can also go to this you-tube video:

Step 4:  Book assignment {p. 629-634 #1-23odd, 25-30 all} needs to be completed and posted in schoology(Straub) via photograph and e-mail(Halstead) by 4/14 at 5PM.

Step 5:  Discussion question needs to be completed in schoology for Straub and Halstead by 4/14/20 at 5:00 pm.

For enrichment.  The two sections that the AP has taken off the exam have been covered on the you-tube site for AP review where they are posting daily videos we have mentioned before.  Our assignments are going to focus only on what is on the exam, but these would be good resources to watch for completion sakes of the course.

Additional resources: (non-video lesson):  Only use if after the Kahn video lesson you are still confused.
